This section presents a selection of documents written by Angus during the mid-1980s, around the time when the Scottish Crofters’ Union was founded, largely as a result of his efforts. His writings in this area reflect a deeply held conviction that the only way of adequately protecting crofters’ interests was through a united, well-organised body with a geographical remit that covered the entire Highlands and Islands.
